No Doubt Wedding Video Clip with Violence

I tested it with IE and Firefox on a PC using the Quicktime 7.0.2 plugin and it seemed to work fine for me.

Anyone else having problems?

This is the H264 codec's fault. I will load the crappy old Sorenson version if it can't be resolved.

Nice editing, maybe you should be doing music videos.
The problem with wedding videos and editing like that is it's a little too NOW.
It's great work but the thing about weddings is it should be something they can watch in fifty years. That kind of fancy editing isn't timeless. Remember the cube transitions so popular in the eighties. It's gaudy now. Your editing is very contemporary but in 20 or 30 years it will be very dated.

Good work though and if thats what the client wants they will be extremely happy. Although the reason most wedding videographers just do 20-20, Dateline or 60 Minutes style editing and shooting is it's a bit more timeless. Slow dissolves and a bit of slow motion here and there have been around since the dawn of filmmaking. Personaly, I prefer to shoot and edit in a contemporary style like yours. Thats why I don't do weddings anymore.
The thing you need to ask yourself about new age shooting techniques is, will it be appreciated when the bride and groom show it to there grandchildren?

David,

What is the average turn around time on your "Dusk till Dawn package"? I think this video is very well done, and shows your passion for making quality original artistic videos. On this clip I think the effects work nicely. Kudos to you for raising the bar so high. I think 20-30 years from now the B&G will still be pleased that their wedding video isn't exactly the same as everyone elses. Also how do you go about getting your corporate work?

Man, I just got around to watching this. What an amazing video! You should be very proud of this piece.

I have to disagree. A fresh take like this is what evolves the whole genre of wedding videos. Elegant transitions, diffused black and white, and romantic slow-motion have their place, but a wedding video is also a time capsule. I'd think it would be a fun reminder of the time it was created.

Now, I've got to go edit a wedding myself. Thanks for the inspiration.

Cant get it to work at all.... really wanted to check it out after the comments Ive read.

On my own wedding video I added a music video component to the dancing at the reception .. came together nicely. I havent seen yours, but one thing I wasnt into when I got married was some of the video guys showing thier wares and the bride and groom, bridal party were all lined up miming the words to some cheesy song. Only served to make the wedding look like a cheap tacky affair.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. :)

I don't think there is a thing as a timeless video. No matter how you edit it, the hair, fashions, music, locale and technology will all do it's part to make sure your work becomes dated. All you can do is try to make it interesting now and hope that it's still interesting 20 years down the road. It's really out of your hands.

I hope you ended up getting it to work. I agree that lip syncing can be cheesy if not done well but in the end, the people who pay for that type of stuff usually love it even if nobody else does.

The jumpbacks used were from the Artbeats Film Clutter collection.

Nice work. I did something like that back when I first started editing in 00-01'. We even did enhanced cds for the invites that were MTV'd out. Luckily dude was a singer and he worked for KORG so he didn't mind the fanciness. That was my first and last wedding. I sure hope you do change the game for those coming up cause I haven't done a wedding since b/c of the staleness. Tho I have helped friends shoot 2 others this past year. BUT YOU, r The Man. Good luck in future endeavors. Ciao
