No Cameras Delivered Yet...

Just spoke to my LA vendor. Says he was told 25 cameras would arrive today. Then told it would only be 1 camera. Then found out that no camera was shipped on December 29th and he has no idea when to expect anything. Wow.

With great respect to Panasonic and their achievement with this new camera, it seems fair to say that a lot of us have projects that we need to start and money invested to waiting lists. Can anyone confirm that more than a single camera will be shipped to our vendors anytime soon? I am resigned to wait until mid-January as forewarned, but if we all find out in January that it's actually going to be another 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks...a lot of our projects are going to be screwed.

With all of the amazing info and inside access which this forum provides, can we please have a straight answer from Jan or anyone at Panasonic about actual delivery details? (Or just tell our vendors and they can tell us?) Again, no disrespect implied. Just trying to run a business like everyone else...
 
i have the money in my budget put aside for two HVX's, but if i can't have my hands on them by mid-feb at the latest, panasonic has lost out on sales. i can only hold off for so long...
 
Oh, c'mon, y'all knew what you were getting into, didn't you? I pre-ordered for tax purposes, but fully expected there would be delays. And, frankly, am happy that Panny isn't doing what many manufacturers do - rushing out a crappy product just to meet a deadline. Yeah, I want my camera - but I want it to work.

Sure, I'd love to hear some official information from Panny about shipping, etc.... but I don't really expect to.

Don't get bitter, guys! This is life on the edge! Dig it!
 
I believe it's a fair request to know what the status of the shipments are.

Jan jumps in here to correct some of the misrepresentations or ignorance about image quality, but not benefit all of us with some information on roughly what the shipments are to date.

I follow the posts at three other boards, and as far as I can determine, or confirm, there is just one person with a production model and he is in Japan.

B&H claims it will deliver to someone soon who ordered Friday.

Just give us some idea what the status is.

That's really not asking alot.

So far it's all been talk and no action - seriously embarrassing for Panasonic IMO.
If I had to run my business this way I wouldn't have a business to run. And if any of you are planning your business (shoots) around this hypothetical camera then good luck to you!
And guys...PLEASE...unless you are getting paid by Panasonic, I think a little objective criticism over blind loyalty would better serve this community.

Yeah, I think a "fourth quarter of 2005" was pretty misleading personally... it may be legally fulfillled, but the real world promise hasn't been.

God knows when we'll see them in the UK.:(

Fresh from the e-mail from my dealer- " Panasonic US says that the limited shipment of AG-HVX200s they received at the end of December went to orders placed in July and August. They estimate mid January for yours. They hope enough will come in by the end of January to fill the orders up through November" I placed my order at the beginning of November and I am #1 on the list from my Panasonic Dealer. Sounds to me from the rest of the e-mail that it might be end on Jan and if you ordered after Thanksgiving, you definitely shouldn't expect it before Feb. You never know, but this info I pass on from my dealer, and is from his Panasonic Rep. TODAY (Tuesday 1-3)

No cameras shipping.... no manual.... they must be adding features! I just know it! They're fixing the audio so you can record channels 3 and 4 through the RCA ins!

More like, hurry up and get a move on. I don't care if none of you get any sleep.:)

I like to be treated like I treat my customers... and that often requires not sleeping in order to fulfil promises.

Okay, they just about made their deadline, but then Clinton "did not have sexual realations with that woman" either. What's the need to suck up to Pany the whole time?
