C100: No audio while viewing avchd files via windows media player?

One of the really cool things about shooting the AVCHD codec on my AF100 and GH2 is that I'm able to screen my footage there and then when on job just by inserting the SD card in my PC and bam! I tried this with the Canon C100 files and the audio is not present when playing thru WMP or any other plug in player, just to make sure I put the footage on my Premiere time line and the audio was present and sounded fine. Any explanation for this?

Sounds like there is no system level audio decompresser for the C100 audio track. ( it's the "DEC" part of the term CODEC )

VLC probably has it's own built-in decompresser libraries which include a decompresser for the C100 audio track.

The free MediaInfo utility might be able to tell you what CODEC the C100 is using for the audio track.
