NLE not recognizing my HVX

must this dialog be established before capturing, or can I configure aspect ratio/pixels after capturing?

It is the NLE that interprets what the file is in Premieres case. An anamorphic file is captured in a "distorted" form and then restored to a normal view for playback. I don't know Speededit, but I imagine all the NLEs work in a similar fashion. Have your searched for "aspect ratio" in Speededits help file?

I captured the footage via USB. It was super stretched but SpeedEdit allows me to manually alter the image. It's the best possible solution for me at the moment short of buying a new computer. At least I can work on my project..

Thanks everyone for the help... I'm not exactly sure why my FireWire failed me but this solution works and honestly, that's all I care about
