Hi all,

I have just purchased the Ninja-V in order to get the 6k raw form the S1H. I'm just wondering if anyone recommends any kind of pelicase for the Ninja-V? The official ones that are made for the Ninja-V are £150+ but looking on Amazon, you can get a decent sized peli where you can cut your the foam yourself for around £50. I've not done this before but at £100 difference I'm keen to save the money. Anyone have any advice? The ones I like the look of are:

Thanks

Great recommendation. They'd not stock that in the UK but I'm going to look for something similar!

Hi boosh,

How are you liking the S1H/Ninja V combo? Have you had a chance to test how well it will intercut with your C300 MKIII?

I remember you shooting some beautiful stuff with your FS700 and Odyssey 7Q so I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of both of these cameras since they are both on my radar.

Thanks!

Hi Garry T,

The S1H and Ninja V is lovely. I love the full frame look with it and how light it is, yet it still feels like a robust well built camera and less of a dslr. The internal codecs are good enough on the S1H and I cant really see myself utilising the 6k raw unless its for commercial purposes. That being said, I've been using the Ninja V to film in regular Prores for producers and production companies and they love the ease of use. You can dual film into internal and on the Ninja-V so thats great for backups. I've filmed 4 or 5 corporate jobs over the past two weeks using the C300 MKIII and the S1H, dual filming on interviews. The colours are definitely different on these cameras but can simply be matched in post. I watched the producer do it on set in about 60 seconds. The C300 MKIII is incredible, the image is just beautiful straight our of the camera. A really clean image, with beautiful skin tones and colours, very natural looking. The autofocus is amazing and very useful for what I film and the 4k 120fps at the press of a button is a dream. For me its the best camera out right now for the balance of ease of use and quality of image and camera features. I know this should do me at the very least for 5 years, until people start looking at plus 4k resolutions in the corporate sector.

Thanks!

It's great the hear they can be matched so easily. The C300MKIII looks amazing and I keep coming back to the S1H as a mirrorless option.

Unfortunately, I'm not shooting much these days and unless things change it might not be until 2021 before I upgrade my kit.

Be sure to post some of your work when you get a chance.
