C100: Ninja Blade, etc, monitor on C100: any thoughts on Wooden Camera UVF LCD Mount?

I like it. I also have the Zacuto AXIS. Both do the same thing but are very different. I Added a Nato rail so I can use my Zacuto clamp with it. A nice fast way to setup the arm. On a tripod the Axis is more versatile since you can get it in so many different positions. The Wooden Camera EVF is fast with less options. I like them both. The Wooden Camera EVF is well made. It holds in position by tightening the clamp just so and it holds in position. I have put a DP6, Atomos Ninja Blade and Zacuto EVF on it and works great. You will have to get an extender for larger devices to attach them but the version you are looking at has a longer monitor mount than the one I have. I would recommend adding a Nato rail and QR clamp.
You also should get the top plate for the C100. The EVF attaches to the front and you have a few extra 1/4 20 options too.

Thanks Erik. Do you ever shoot handheld with a rigless camera, using only the WC top plate and the arm, removing the bottom plate and rods? I'm curious how the additional weight and bulk feel.

If I shoot handheld all the stuff comes off unless I'm using my Zacuto Recoil and that changes everything. It's just awkward to palm the camera with the EVF on the side.

I've found the Cinevate Universal Accessory Mount to be the best Ninja Blade attachment for the C100. It's a tight fit that stays comfortable even with handheld shooting.

I wish I had known about solutions like that when I had the Ninja. One of the reasons I sold it was because it was very awkward to position and always made my C100 footprint too big. This solution is nice and compact!

Agreed. Nice, simple solution. I have the Cinevate baseplate and universal accessory mount, and I've been using it on a 5D body for the past few months. I'm just trying to find solutions on the C100 for getting the LCD monitor more in front of me. If the LCD is behind you, you can't (comfortably) handhold and stabilize your bent elbows against your torso, if you picture what I mean. And that's how I shoot about 60% of the time... hence my curiosity about the Wooden Camera solution, which seems fairly low maintenance. I'm not a fan of articulating arms or ball heads.

Not trying to hijack but was wondering if any of you that are using the Wooden Camera top plate with the Canon handle, how sturdy does it feel?

I also don't mean to hijack the thread with other questions but it seems like a good place for it rather than starting a new thread since everyone here seems to have the accessories that I'm interested in.

1. How much taller does the top handle sit on the C100 with the WC top plate on it?

2. How long does the Ninja blade run on the included battery? What battery would you recommend for it?

My trusty Marshall LCD-50 took a dive and cracked the LCD. So unfortunately I'm now in the market for a new monitor for my C100 and the Ninja Blade would knock out two birds with one stone.

I'd say less than half and inch.

Not sure but it takes the normal Sony NPF batteries, which you can find anywhere.

I bought 4 of these:

And they last a LONG time.

that long bracket for the blade is sold with the WC EVF mount or did you have to buy it separately ?
