Could you talk a little about your setup for this? Great use of natural flare.

So you found some inspiration:) Those are pretty cool night shots, like the last one best but the first is good too

My first D40 photos. They were all taken with a nikon ais 28mm f2.8. It'll take same time to get used to the whole digital photo thing. But I can tell I'm going to have fun.

Here's some more I took this morning. Lenses used were a collection of nikon ais (28mm, 50mm, 85mm, 135mm). I'm loving still working on my faded look. If anyone has any advice I'll really appreciated.

I agree with Andrew, but it's hard focusing w/out a split-prism. I really like the natural hair light effect of 3, but I think I would have cropped in a little tighter. Good stuff though Rafa!

Thanks, guys. It means a lot a new comer like me. It is hard to focus manually without the split prism, but hopefully I'll eventually get used to it.

Hey Rawfa, the last two images of that elderly couple against the wall are awesome. How are you reaching that desat look? If you told me those were taken back in '72 I would believe you. I dig the composition too.

Thanks, Alveraz. That is some compliment, coming from a pro like you ;-)
The desaturation was done simply by messing with the levels on photophop. I'm no pro there either but the more I play with it the more I see all the amazing possibilities. BTW, I love the desaturated look from the 70's.

well, i haven't been out and about for a few weeks due to craziness and my glasses bieng out of commission (stupid out of focus eyes). anyway, i got a flash unit today (sb800) and i took a few test shots around the house; suffice to say i'm rather happy with it (still learning what it can do though). let me know what you think.
