Nikon User Thread

Awesome, sorry I jumped the gun regarding the image, couldn't help it. Yeah, I get pretty solid stuff around that aperture too. Take it easy and good luck.

Not sure if its kosher or not to throw in shots that aren't mine....but here's a picture my wife just showed me that she took yesterday:

I thought it was worth posting
She took a bunch of bee photos - but this was my favorite.

Oh - in keeping with the thread....

Definitely a great picture Louis. I would probably crop it in some way, maybe make the bee upper left? I don't know...Something about all that negative space just throws me off.

You should call this one, "Lunch".

Great pic.

That bee is awesome, perfect catch. I try to catch bugs but I don't have the macro thing down yet. I'm working on it.

Here's a client I shot today. I switched out the 50mm for the 70-300, just to see what happens. I kinda dig the results...

The moon was great tonight. I decided to try and get a pic. I didn't have much success, but I did manage to grab one that looked ok. Nikon D70 300mm.

Then, I took the camera off the tripod, and it slipped out of my hands. I grabbed the strap, and it slipped right though that as well and dropped onto the large flagstones we have around our porch. Needless to say, my stomach dropped, and I feared for the worst. I grabbed the cam, looked for visible damage (it didn't land on the lens, that the gods,) and ran inside to do a few test pics looking for damage to the focus system, shutter, lens(es), body, and flash.

To my relief, all seems to be ok. I took this pic as a test:

That was one of many, the camera survived the fall, and without any real damage to its functionality that I could find.

Scared the hell out me though. A three foot fall onto stone. I thought I was going to puke. But all seems well. Let's hope it stays that way.

man, stories (and experiences) like that make me cringe... i'm glad all is well.

oh, and i like the lamp picture a lot.

Made me cringe in ways only my doctor would allow me to describe.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

The lamp pic is straight out of cam, no retouching (which for those who know me says something), and was done mainly to still my palpitating heart. When I look at it though, it's not that bad as a pic.

Thanks

Matt - glad to hear your camera is okay. Think of the body armor, lol, might give you piece of mind.

Alz - is that gal an actress?

Don´t you have more pics of that girl? :D

Why did you add so much grain to some of the shots from the roller derby match?
The ones with no grain look good.

Alveraz... man I love your pictures... and yeah... those girls are breaking my heart.

Hey I notice a pretty big catchlight in their eyes each time... and the faces have a really soft gradual illumination. Do you have a flash in a softbox or what are you using for light? Box size, brand, flash model please!
