This is the actress from my Horrorfest entry. She said she needed new headshots and I told her I would take a crack at it. As a result I now have five more people waiting to be scheduled.
Natural light with a bounce from an umberella. Shoot lasted about 45 min from start to disc with pics on it.

Great shot but needs work. The colors are flat and there are stray hairs under her nose and around her neck. I didn't fool with the hairs but I did increase the color depth just a bit and nuked a few small blemishes on the side of her face. I don't like over processing but this needed just a little bit of work.

Yea Brandon, Nice photos.

Try this:

Turn off all the lights in the room. Set your camera up for a 20+ second exposure and light your stuff with a flashlight. Gives a pretty cool effect.

This is a 30 second exposure using a small MAG light as the source. Just paint the scene with the flashlight. Takes a little practice but the results are pretty cool.

It's a good technique. you'll probably want to turn on the internal noise reduction process in your camera if you're doing that.

I need to do more night, long exposure stuff. unfortunately I usually only do those when I'm in a very bad mood.

Nice colors on those shots! I am going down to hollywood today... bringing the D50 :) hoping to get some sick shots.
