I bought the Nikon D200 last year. It is really nice. I think I paid $1500. The price has drop even more since then.

I've heard that the 18-200vr is a good lense too. I ended up buying the 70-200vr 2.8.

But I've read that that the D200 & 18-200vr combo is hard to beat. I'm carry around the 17-55 on one camera and the 70 -200vr on another camera. I sometime wish I just had that one lense!!

The 18-200 cannot come anywhere close to a 17-55 and 70-200.

You are talking the difference between a consumer lens and professional glass.

The quality of the 17-55 and 70-200 (the best telephoto lens Nikon has ever made) make the 18-200 look like a toy.

The only benefit I have ever experienced with the 18-200 is that it is nice to carry just one lens, but the sharpness just isn't there... on top of that once you shoot pro glass going to anything else is just painful.

Finally and maybe most importantly, with the amount of MP that a camera like the D200 has you can carry something like a 28-70 and crop the hell out of the image.

People like Ken Rockwell swear by the 18-200 but it almost defeats the point of having a camera that can take multiple lenses.

This is a piece of equipment that I get to play with for the next two months. I am 1st AC on our 35mm Project at Full Sail Real World Education that is taking place next month. We are currently in preproduction for the film which I have the job of location scouting. Can't wait to start shooting!

This is the ArriCam Lite. I will also be using the ArriCam Studio and the Arri 235.

Exposure Time : 1/30Sec
F Stop : F4.0
ISO Setting : 400
Quality : RAW

I was at a ritz camera today because i was bored in the mall and the saleman was trying to tell me digital cameras don't work unless the lens has auto on it.

Hey just wondering if anyone has used the Nikon 50mm F1.8. I am so torn on purchasing this lens. I would like to see some uncorrected photos that this lens has produced. So if anyone has them please post some pictures up!

And tell me your thoughts about this lens also!

I've heard nothing but great things about it but have no personal experience. I'm just a post whore in this thread, sorry. I ordered my D200 finally though so I'm psyched. The 50 1.8 is definitely on my list of toys.
