just bought a D40

just bought a D40

I have just bought a new Nikon D40 and as soon as i took it I felt something special.

Well here are the first photos taken with it (Kit lense 18-55mm).

I like the photos ilauzirika. The bottom picture IMO is too saturated. The rose petals on the right are too blown out. But all in all. good work.
 
Got this with the new D200 last weekend. Using my crusty f4.5 70-300mm walk around lense, but it's not to bad for being zoomed from pretty far back.

I dig that last one. Its very interesting. I see you are in Denver. I used to live in Longmont many years ago when I was a younger lad.

Is this picture taken from Eliches or Lakeside? Are they even still there?

Ming, the water prop is F'ing badass, the bird random one, is cool since its on the fly but i would have cropped it and rotated it so it was straight up and down and centered, and taken out the little bird thats out of focus, the swings are cool since the focus is in the middle, people in front are out of focus and so are the people behind.

thanks for giving your opinion, i also think that the second photo is a bit too saturated (i'll look into that)
 
D70s swap for D80

D70s swap for D80

This is to anyone. There is a possible chance that I have to swap a D70s body for a D80. The only problem is that I like to shoot action photography and the D80 only has a 1/200th compared to the 70s 1/500th. Anyone got any suggestions? A comparison between the two if you have had experience with them. Thanks!
 
I just bought the D80 and have no problems with action shots, the difference between the two is pretty minimal from what I gather. There's a couple threads on that subject over at nikonians.org
