Like this one a lot. b/w works well for it imo.

First one is very nice Dan... flash power is perfectly balanced with the trees. Maybe punch up the colors even more (although could just be this laptop screen.)

Thanks Allen. The 3rd had 2 lights. One SB800 in SU4 mode behind the Bride. It was zoomed in all the way and pointed up to light the background. The Main light is hand held overhead with a Honl 1/4" grid. I burned down some of the spill on the stairs, but there wasn't much.

Thanks EG. That background was so perfect. I just wish she had her flowers with her, but they were being delivered and the light couldn't wait. I agree on the colors. I didn't make any adjustments to the raw files on any of these (other than the a fore mentioned burning). I didn't even export. I just used a screen capture to pop it online really fast. :) I shot these for someone, so I know they will edit the poo out of them before the bride ever sees them.

It's funny, that shot totally breaks the rule of thirds in terms of head placement but I wouldn't want it composed any differently. Just shows you that there is no replacement for having a good eye and the experience of knowing how to compose a photograph.

Dan... your shots positively KICK ASS... I love your photography. I want to add more strobes to my kit... including some modifiers... snoots... use my existing soft-boxes... etc. I shoot some weddings also... and I gotta' say that I REALLY like how you are using light to frame your subjects and pull them off the BG... while still keeping the BG for sense of location.

And now for something less "technical"...

Shot some pics for a friend yesterday... working through some quick PS adjustment today... thought this one worth posting... not perfectly lit, but not bad... D70s w/ SB800 and stock 18-70mm lens. (I need to go in PS and knock down that red of the wife's shirt... damn Nikon really "loves" certain shades of red...)

I hate to bump the thread just to say thanks for the compliment... but coming from you two guys? Thanks for the compliment!

What's funny is the kids did not want to cooperate much at all... I had to convince the parents to let the kids do what they wanted to do... and we would work with them... since they weren't working with us... the kids were running up and down that street and I told the parents to stay there... and just keep their eyes on me as they talked... I ran ahead of the kids, and told the older one to give his little brother a hug... and if you look at the picture again... you can see that we are one second away from the youngest one being annoyed at the older brother starting to "choke" him.

:)

What do they say? Something about kids and animals?
