http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/member.php?u=53329Sc3nwriter, I really dig the colors in those first four pictures. It looks like you didn't have to do much tweaking (if any really) in post, that it was all in camera. Good work.
So I've been doing other peoples headshots for quite a while now, and I've always been curious how I would like it if I were to do my own. I needed some good character shots that showed my quirkier nature, a bit more of who I really am. Thanks to an assistant and a few hours of efforts, I was able to, essentially, shoot myself. Here are my 3 favorites.
Screenwriter, I really liked your 1st, 2nd (she's falling!), and 3rd. The 4th doesn't work for me with such a strong tilt but I really like the idea of having the train tracks be so prominent and having the vanishing point in the frame with the lines of the tracks being so long. Perhaps a bit of a compromise between the angle and the size of the tracks would work better for me. Otherwise it is a fantastic photo.
The 5th however feels a bit flat in terms of luminosity, especially coming after the 4th. The flares don't help it.
Hey Brad ... I live in Ohio, but I was there at Manhattan Beach this Summer. This is from my ... hope this doesn't get me booted off of here ... Sony A700. Handheld "quick shot"; 800 ISO, f3.5, 1/10 shutter, 18mm (27mm actually ... X1.5)
