Nikon to EOS adapter that gets Infinity focus

So I have a couple of Zeiss ZF Nikon mounts that are awesome lenses.

I also have a Fotodiox Pro ($80) and an old Cinevate adapter ($40) that I got a while back.

Neither the Fotodiox Pro, which fits really good; nor the Cinevate adapter (fits loosely = not good) can achieve infinity focus on any of my Nikon mount lenses.

I was thinking about checking out the Novoflex (super expensive), but I've read that some people cannot get infinity focus with that either.

My friend has some Leica lenses for his T2i, and he bought an expensive $280 adapter (might have been Novoflex), and he cannot get infinity focus on that either.

It almost seems like a case by case basis. Some people's Nikon adapters can get infinity focus while others cannot. Maybe it's a quality control issue?

Anyways, have any of you guys been able to get infinity focus with either the Fotodiox Pro or the Novoflex adapter?

There's a lot of discussion about this in the lens subforum. I personally have a Bower adapter and a fotodiox, and haven't noticed any issues with focusing to infinity.

So I talked to the guy at Fotodiox and he explained to me that the adapters do achieve infinity focus, but just NOT at the infinity mark, but a few millimeters before it. So you have to just make a mental note or find infinity everytime by looking at the LCD.

I know that I could get infinity focus, I just assumed that it would land on the infinity mark.

He explained that they have to have the adapter focus a few mm before the infinity mark to compensate for all the different lenses.

I guess it would be nice to have it focus right on the infinity mark (for the sake of being lazy), but not possible for all the different lenses, which makes sense

What I was trying to say is that I was confused by the definition of infinity focus on the adapters. I knew that you could get infinity focus with the Fotodiox, but I just assumed that it would land on the infinity mark, just like a native canon lens.

But with the Fotodiox adapter, infinity focus is a few millimeters before the infinity focus mark. So you are getting infinity focus, just not on the mark.
