Nikon to Canon Adapters

The play with the Novoflex adapter is extremely minor. You only notice it when you turn the follow focus to the extremes, when you try to focus past infinity or past close focus, and the lens can't go any further. Then it may rotate about 1mm in the mount. It's never been a problem for me.

I may be lucky with my sample of the 50mm 1.2 because I have never had an issue mounting it, and there are no scratches inside the camera as evidence that the tab has been bumping into anything.

Is that piece on the lens or adapter?

On the Nikon 50mm f/1.2 AI-s there is tab that sticks out from the rear (see photo below - upper left) - this will catch on the 5DII's mirror and may damage the mirror - before mounting the lens you need to cut this tab off.
