Nikon Primes for the Canon 5D MK II

Is there any point using AF lenses when they can not be used as AF.

Us DOF Adapter guys use the MF versions of the Nikkors. Older, cheaper, well constructed, sharp...excellent glass. (Classics)

I would say yes as long as they are good lenses to begin with and have manual aperture rings.

The advantage is that you might very well be able to use them with Auto Focus/Manual in future Nikon Cameras that are better than the D90 and the 5D MK II!

This way you have your bases covered.

With that said manual primes are excellent!
