Nikon lenses v Panasonic lenses

Hello friends,

I'm new to the MFT (and interchangeable lens) game. I have a few questions regarding Nikon and Panasonic lenses:

Which lenses of the two produce better images?
Which of the two are better at capturing motion?
Which of the the two are better hand-held?
How is the Voigtlander 25mm .95 better than equivalent Nikon and Panasonic lenses?

Thanks.

1. Depends on the lens. Some Nikons are great, some not-so-great. Some Panasonics are great, some not-so-great.

2. No difference.

3. The Lumix lenses with OIS will stabilize jittery handheld shots, so the 14-140 or the Lumix X 12-35, 45-175, or forthcoming 35-100.

4. It's better if you like the feel of a true pure mechanical lens, and if you need a very fast f-stop. It opens to f.0.95, so basically there is no equivalent Panasonic or Nikon lens.

Thanks Barry.

1. Which Nikons and Panasonic primes do you recommend? I'm looking at 50mm 1.8/1.4.

2. You didn't mention the 14-45mm. Is it viable solution? The ones you listed are so expensive.

I have and highly recommend the 7-14, and the 20/1.7, those are both great. I have the 14-140, which is a versatile lens, but I'm looking forward to replacing it with the 12-35 and the 35-100. And I have the 100-300, which is a little "meh" but it's really inexpensive for what it does. But all of those, each of those, are quite pricy as compared to something like the 14-45.

But those are the only ones I have, so the only ones I can comment on.

I don't have any Nikon glass.
