Nikon Lenses on Canon body

Hi,

I am a Nikon shooter but might be upgrading to a canon 7D for the video capabilities.

Does anyone know if my AIS lenses will meter and will my DX and AFD lenses meter and autofocus? Also what modes should they work in?

If anyone is currently using nikon lenses on a canon body, what adapter are you using?

I also have a Nikon camera, with a 50mm 1.8 E-series from the 1970s, hopefully it will work great on the 7D.

I need an adapter too - any recommendations?

Is there any difference with the Nikon lenses on the full frame sensor on the 5dmk2 vs the cropped 7d?
 
There's another thread about this, but the easy answer is, Yes. Metering and autofocus, I'm not so sure how well they work, but some adapters have a chip.

I got the stainless steel one on ebay from seller "buyitjnow" and it does focus to infinity... and beyond! Not good. But it was 8 bucks. It also uses a goofy way to achieve tight tolerances which would loosen over time. Don't get that one.
