nikon finally gets canon quality 1080p hd (24p, 30i, 60i) hd video. lol!

the "technical" field of view i.e. focal length yes, but i don't think i've ever changed focal length without feeling that i had to move the camera too. that crop of yours is shot from the correct angle for a wide, it works less well for the medium. and had you repositioned to get a better medium it's very likely the wide would have suffered.

thanks matt. i did shoot more than one shot for that shoot.

i shot from different positions during the shoot. don't you?

Roxy, I am not going into a debate with you, because I don't have time and energy for childish flaming. I made my point, and wished you good luck.
then why do you childishly flame?

Still a short reply:

This is crap. If you do a video shoot outdoors you make sure you control the light, by either using reflectors or electric lights fed by car batteries and 12/220V convertors.

so you're gonna take car batteries and 12/220V connectors into sea caves below 100 foot ledges, filled with crashing waves and salt water? you're going to carry all that though the surf? lol!

What you do now is showing a crappy video and then when you get criticized, come with excuses for why the video is so crappy. If I were you I would tone down a little and look at your video again and read my comments again and think of a way to improve your work. Put your energy in getting better at what you do, instead of putting your energy in getting your right in silly online forum discussions. There is so much to be learned out there, and most information can be found for free on the web, or in very affordable books @ amazon.com . Check for books about glamour and video lighting for example.
dude--it is 3 minutes of unedited video just demoing a concept. you said it was too shaky. i provided video from pro fashion sites with even greater camera shake. lol!

Among other things I shoot fetish content for adult sites and am doing quite allright with that. That gives enough budget for hiring models, buy proper equipment, not having to attach camera's to each other (lol!) etc. I will not give you any links because I don't have to proof anything to you. You don't have to believe me, if you think you're better than me I can very well live with that. There's a saying "don't feed the trolls", and I am not going to feed you.
how much does it cost to hire a fetish model for 3 eight hour sessions, like you said? do they get tired after 24 hours of fetishing? would they not prefer that you shot some video alongside stills so that their day would be shorter/so that they could work elsewhere? i bet they woould!

Again, good luck with it. Next time you ask people for an opinion, add to that that you want praising replies only. I was just being honest to you and I'm sorry that you can't appreciate that.
you're not being honest at all--you won't even share any of your work. why is this? just one simple link to a photo or video anywhere would be cool. thanks in advance! :)

best,

roxy

Roxy, I pay models per hour, for time in front of camera. When I say a shooting day takes 8 hours, this includes time for make-up and outfits, lunch and coffee breaks etc. Usually it's 5 hours in front of cam, and 3 hours for make-up etc (most make-up artists need about one hour per make-up/hair). Payment is between 50 and 200 euro per hour. The more hours a model shoots the more money she makes. In the past I paid them by day and had to deal with lazy models who were tired at 3pm already, when you pay them by the hour though they suddenly don't mind working till midnight. I get my models from sites like modelmayhem.com and purestorm.co.uk etc

And when looking for outdoor shooting locations I don't only look how beautiful a certain spot is, but also how easy it is to get their with equipment and models, like how close can I get there with my car. I have extra batteries in my car which are charged by the dynamo when I'm driving, with 12 to 220V convertors for powering my fluorescent lights.

If I still worked red carpet or the courts or hard news or riots, which I dont, events that happen once and fast and the market doesnt really care about the quality just the content I would certainly be slipping a handycam onto the top of my D3

At a riot it would be good to be rolling video when the police come to talk to you with a big stick

There are also advertising applications that require stills and motion but then you need a very careful set up and well conceived shots
