Nikon DSLR?

Other than the D90. Is Nikon going to enter the DSLR game in a serious way and at what price point? Any ideas when this may happen?
 
I think it is evident by the "Great Shootout" that the D3s has AMAZING low light ability. Too bad it's only 720p!
 
as they released point and shoot with 1080, i guess its just a matter of months before we see something. But im sure it will come.
 
I dumped nikon after shooting 5 shorts a documentary and an add with my old D90. I love them, but they just were not being competitive. Sad because they lost a life time customer because of it.

who knows if ill ever switch back or not, now that im getting into canon stuff.

Same here. I love them. I have had Nikons for 30+ years and love them. I have D-90 and find it ok for stills but I compare the video to Super 8 when looking at the other cameras. I am tired of hanging on and waiting for Nikon to join the race. It appears the race may now be over before they ever joined ;-((
 
There are two dierections nikon can go

All their words are a disinterest in video there was a quote from the top man that seemed profoundly stupid

On the other side nikon are usually late these are the last things that drove people to canon

Agiain nikon won big time with the 'late' D1 which at $5k trounced the $20 kodak/canon of the time

Once nikon catch up however generally they catch up with a killer app

Thier mid levels must be getting hammered by canon right now

As a hard core nikon ite I have not given nikon any money since the D3, my last $ have gone to canon 5d, 7d

The D3 is fine for stills - im not on a megapxl race so better video is the only upgrade i desire

Due to Sensor technology, I don't think Nikon will be in the game unless they join with someone else, even then, it would be hard to be price competitive, because Canon has everything in house.
