Nikon D90 remote start / stop

I am looking for a camera that can be controlled remotely to start / stop video recording.
Is Nikon D90 remote controllable ?

I think Nikon should start thinking as a video camera manufacturer from now on.
Canon is doing it since a long time....

If Nikon had a D99X US$ 2500 ,which has all video camera features like : full HD , full frame, fast auto focus, etc I think this would be their money generator in this low economic era

any other idea for improving nikon D99X ?
 
The guys that filmed the hang gliding video set up something with nikon to have recording via remote for both stills and video.

Though I don't think I would want to modify my d90 like that

That's true, but that was a Nikon D300s.

It was probably some custom rig they developed.
 
If you have a rig, you could make your own with a little electric motor driving
two pins in sequence, one pushing LV and one pushing OK, and a tuned remote.
You could get something like that built for you by a hobbyist. It wouldn't cost much.
