Nikon D7000: Day Exterior Tests-

Nice job Ryan, enjoyed the moves. Everytime I see d7000 footage I'm impressed by its dr and colours. And the noise is pleasing too (if this can be attributed to the camera). The footage isn't too sharp - what would you put that down to? And some aliasing was noticable - would say this camera is worse in this respect than the gh series?

Thanks for sharing...

Yeah- the D7000 is impressive. I sold my GH2 and went for the D7000. I think the GH2 has less moire issues (Still there, just less so). But the Nikon's colors and DR are a lot better IMO. The noise is very pleasent as well- it doesn't feel videoey at all. As far as being sharp- I'm not sure about that- as it looked great on my 24" screen while I was editing it / grading it. That may just be a function of the render / compression for Vimeo?

Great footage in both video clips. If the D7000 could do 30P, I would be all over it.

Hint...hint...Nikon...firmware update...25P/30P.

hahah so similar to this other video i shot last year: http://vimeo.com/16605384 :grin::grin:

Yeah, there are no sexy women in this one, but I don't have a great running commentary ...

I would have loved to go back up to the San Juans to shoot some more footage, like I did previously with the GH2: http://www.vimeo.com/22969994 , but this will have to do. Next up is running around town in the dead of night to test out the low light abilities.

Loved it looking at getting myself the d7000
Only issue i had with this was the jump cut in the last 15 secs, on those trees.
Didnt like that edit

other then that pumped to get this cam

Interesting comment, as there was not a jump cut in the last 15 seconds- maybe your computer jumped? There is a slow 2 second cross dissolve, but no jump cut ...
