Hey Rob (answered some in your PM) -
5300 was all steadicam at 60p- I really could see no difference in editing… sweet little video DSLR.
Primary glass - Nikkor 28-70 2.8, a dynamite "90% of the time" lens and it looks badass, just giant;
85mm 1.8 for closeups, the best people lens I own - kinda magic.
Pretty sure it was the Tokina 12-28 F4 on the steadicam (rented it along with the 5300 since all my glass is screw-drive and I wanted to AF the initial point when shooting steadicam).
There's plenty of rough shots & lame focus pulls in this - that bedroom/dolls shot, I had the crane outside, resting on an open window sill since the room was small, and was balanced on a ladder, trying to do focus pulls…
For 30p-24p: speed up your track to 125% - leave pitch the same if possible, freaks the artist out less (audacity does this easily). Shoot at 30p (29.97). Conform to 24p. I very much like this if fabric or hair is in motion, even just walking gets a little more graceful/powerful. Play with it, very handy for situations where 60p won't work (due to synch speed going through the roof - try speeding up a song 250%, you'll see what I mean…)
There was a thread where i was asked about the bedroom lighting, the diagram is still in my attachments box on DVX, here it is if anyone's into this sort of geekery… the room was a very dark brown so I used muslin for bounce.
