Nikon D4s

Having shot a lot of footage with both, I'll say the D7100 is a pretty major leap. Sold my last Canon body after that purchase.
I've only played around with a D7100 in a store. Nice feel. The 1DC is better, and is a different class of video camera. But, I can only imagine what a D7100 with "I am Log" would do at iso200. Can you say love?

Michael, do you have any experience with the 3300 or 5300? I've been trying to get a definitive answer if there is indeed an improvement in IQ. I've heard there is due to Expeed4 processor, mostly in low light and less FPN. But all I've read as been rather anecdotal.

Thanks!

I haven't seen any info from someone who's tested both side-by-side. The 1080-60p of the 5300 interests me though. But I need the 7100 for stills gigs, I still get some product stuff where a DSLR is fine, can't use the 5300 for paying stills gigs, and wouldn't want it as my main still cam. My guess: same or better IQ than the 7100 with the beefy processor.

Lens Rentals has the 5300 for like $50 for 4 days (+ $20 fedex IIRC)... I may rent one for a music video gig and check it out. Seems like it shoots much like the 7100, though there's only one live view switch, and (from perusing the manual) a lot less stuff like level meters, etc.

The GH4 announcement has thrown a wrench into my "i think I'll buy this next" thought process...
