Nikon Coolpix 2100 is draining batteries

Hi Everyone,


Last year I bought a Nikon Coolpix 2100 and since then I have had problems with the rechargeable batteries being drained and empty very quickly, usually they last about 10 to 15 pictures. Has anybody encountered the same type if issue with a Coolpix camera or another? Any ideas?
 
The 2100 is a very old camera. It was released in 2003 and most likely discontinued 3 or so years later.

I'm assuming you purchased a used unit? Chances are your batteries just have nothing left in the tank.

From a quick glance, the Nikon EN-MH1 batteries are NiMH ones, so you can find cheap replacements to see if that helps. If you're already using brand new batteries, they may not have the correct specifications as there are different kinds of NiMH batteries.
