Nikon 17 55 F 2.8, loose zoom ring...

Hi all!

I picked up a used Nikon 17 55 F.28 DX lens for my GH3. I love the build and the image that comes out of this lens. But I have noticed that the zoom ring has a slight play in it, maybe by 1-2 millimeters. Now this wouldn't bother me if it wasn't that when I record and zoom the whole image jumps because of the tiny play in the zoom lens.
I do understand that this lens was designed for still photos and that this isn't any problem at all for a still photographer, and I would really appreciate if anyone with this lens could check their zoomring if it is loose and if they have seen any play in the image because of this... Any help would be really appreciated!

Here's an example of how it looks... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV4PVAvxLTk&feature=youtu.be

I'd hit a camera store and try some other versions. Some lenses can have some play.

Wait til you start using a follow focus with an SLR lens... it can get very "jumpy"... they're not built for cinema use and it takes a steady hand for longer glass.
