FS7: Nikkor to e-mount dumb adapter

Publimix

Veteran
I have some great old manual focus Nikkor lenses, until now I use a cheap adapter. But this is not a good combination, it is flimsy and the lenses don't fit well.

What brand of (dumb) adapter is the best choice? Any experience here?
novoflex?
fotodiox?
metabones?
other brands?

thnx

I have 2 Metabones adapters (speed booster ultra and dumb) and the MTF adapter for my Nikons. I prefer using the Metabones as it has an aperture ring whereas the MTF uses a little screw. Both are very well built.

I have a dumb Comlite Nikon G to E-mount adapter; there's some play in the E-mount on my copy, but on the Nikon mount play varies with the lense.

May as well
We have a new locking adapter for FS7mk2. Works very well with FS7/2 b/c of the locking emount but it helps FS7 quite a bit as well. future proof ;-)
The advantage of our mount, besides the positive lens mount lock-is the iris control with traditional ring, scale and cine standard gear, in case you would like to use AF/S lenses like the 14-24, 24-70. 70-200 zooms or the wonderful 24mm f1.4 or the 20mm f1.8 lenses...

How much travel in degrees in the iris ring?
Does it work with other e-mount cameras (FS-5)

Here is the picture of it. It will work with any emount camera but it works the best with FS7/2 b/c absolutely all lens/camera slop is eliminated due to positive lock on camera and positive lock on our adapter
The scale can be easily calibrated(red knob) to match exactly any lens aperture reading.
I also believe that all pro emount cameras from now on should be and will be positive locking. After FS7/2 they just can't go back ....;-)

will it work with the fs5?

How much is that adapter? - is there support for heavy lens ?
This is a positive locking stainless steel mount so it will support heavy lenses. If the lens has a support foot integrated it is advisable to use it.
This mount has been around since 2009 in various forms and it has held up very well. The heaviest lens tested has been 70-200 f2.8- no support- held up well as long as you are not swinging it full speed on a motion control rig ;-)
It's the same price as our other Nikon adapters but we have introductory "launch" price planned when we start shipping next month.
Will announce hare.
Regular price will be $900 or so...

wait, sorry... isn't your electronic EF mount adapter only for f 5 / 55 fz mount? is the electronic version available in E mount too?

Yes it is.
Unfortunately with Chinese products in the running it is a difficult step to take... for now we are introducing the Nikon adapter as its advantages are more pronounced....
