Nightclub Settings - Help Needed

Hi,

I'm hoping to take a HV20 into a special event at my favourite nightclub in a couple of weeks time so I have no real testing time.

What I'm wanting to know are what are the best settings?

I want to try to avoid it gaining up on me, so had thought about using Spotlight mode or the Gain Lock trick.

However, I'm not sure what settings are going to be best to use overall - 25P / 1/25th, 25P/ 1/50th, 50i / 1/100th, 50i / 1/50th?

Those should give you an idea about light levels. There's quite a lot of movement in the lights as well.

The crowd are less important to me than the lighting / stage so I'm quite happy for them to be dark as in the existing videos.

I would highly recommend 25p. The footage on vimeo was interlaced. To avoid gain as much as possible try lowering your shutter to 1/25. That should let in some good light.
For some effects try lowering your shutter speed even lower.
