Night Vision with Canon A1

Wanted to see if anyone has attached a night vision scope to A1, and if so, what are the results. I will be shooting a documentary and a portion of it will be in almost total darkness. (It's a ceremony with shamans) I can't add any light, so I'm just trying to find the best, most practical solution. Any suggestions welcome.

Interested in this also, but not because I need to shoot night vision. Would you use a preset to neutralize the green color? Is night vision actually even green?

Infra-red is perfect for this, but I'm not sure whether the A1 can see IR. You can get camera mounted IR lights that won't cast visible light, yet still do the job. Panasonic's DVC30 has an IR feature built in, and produces black and white footage. I've heard that some other cameras can't see IR at all, though...

You could try an IR filter on your camera and see if you can see anything through it (it will be almost completely opaque black to visible light).

Or you could just look at a remote control while pressing buttons.
