I decided to post a test I did a while back when I got my Voightlander 25mm. I've been listening to the Tree of Life soundtrack lately which got me thinking of posting this video using this music.

WARNING: Nothing happens in this video! :)

How did you find the noise with 1250 AND Cine-D? It was probably pretty heavy? Norm2 probably helped though along with the negative Chroma.

This is very nice. did you use rails, follow focus, additional monitor -- basically what did your package consist of? Thanks for posting. -m

in a low-light and hand-held situation like this, I would imagine nailing focus would be tricky with the large iris. Was the peaking (on the AF not TVLogic) of any assistance? I find in dim scenes peaking will not activate- not enough contrast.

Shooting like this is too difficult less than 1.4. I was keeping the iris around the 2.8 if I could. I was only relying on the TV Logic for focus. Face paced street stuff like this is much easier with a larger monitor. At night I use the TV Logic, and Day time, the Zacuto EVF.

Too be honest. I can't use the Onboard LCD the way my camera is configured on my shoulder. In order to have the smallest shoulder rig, is to have it balanced on the shoulder and not too much in front of the body. After tweaking my rig for 8 years, I have now settled on the simplest solution. This means I don't use a shoulder offset or counterweight. It does however require an offboard LCD or viewfinder which is relatively lightweight.

do you find the stock LCD usefull during night shoots?

I should also add that the onboard LCD is totally usaable. It just depends on the style of shooting. For something fast paced, I prefer the TV LOGIC. If you have some time to set up the shots and focus, the onboard is fine.

very filmic image out of this test. A little soft but I think that added to the whole texture and filmic characteristics of this footage.

Thanks. I agree with the softness and think I would increase the detail settings next time.
