Thanks for the snaps. The wood looks gorgeous, and probably very comfortable with sweaty hands.
So what would you use to finish this off for handheld shooting ?
i.e. A shoulder mount with V-Lock battery hanging off the back, etc...
...My main concern is having a balanced rig, so that your arms won't blow-out if you had to hold the rig for most of the day.

Speaking strictly as a shooter, with my FS100 I only add a small shoulder pad to the back. No large brick battery or counter weight needed. Until I added the KinoBall I just hooked my thumb through the iris rod but the wood ball is much more comfortable and it sits in my palm while I ride the focus ring. On the setup I have I get four points of contact (viewfinder, shoulder pad, handgrip, and ball) so it is super stable and I can handhold all day with no problems. With the GH4 I think Bern has the right idea, keep it as small and compact as possible. He may be able to speak more about how his KinoGrip and wood ball setup works but I find with my lighter DSLR and BMD Pocket setups I only need the handgrip. It think the KinoBall works best when you are using some sort of shoulder pad.
Nice thing about our wood ball is it uses an Arri standard rosette so it can be removed or configured depending on the setup.
