Nice GH2 24H video from Japan

Wow, that Japan video is really awesome. Crisp and clean and filmic. It would've been nice to know what lens was used.

Here's a nice low light video with the Nokton lens:

Download it any you'll be amazed. That's all I can say.

Nice. I don't see any noticable aliasing/moire in the wide open shots. The overall look seems detailed yet..soft. I'm liking that lens a lot. At a glance the footage looks like 5Dll bokeh...but...sharper and more film-like colors. My only issue was with the flickering of lights sometimes in the background on buildings. But I'm guessing that had to do with wrong shutter.

dvxjiro...the Lens is a Nokton 25mm F0.95

Thanks Ian. I was meaning the first video though in the park with all the leaves. The Ginza looks great too with the Nokton.

According with the tags, they are both Olympus 11-22mm and 14-35mm, the latter one costing 4x the first one. I am wondering about the outcome with the Tokina 11-16mm (for the price of the first one) on the GH series though. Any takers?

Hey Emanuel, do you have any suggestion about matching my canon FD's to one of those wide -not so expensive- options ? (i suppose they're too sharp to match)

Color and sharpness look good, but the moire is still there and is still horrible - shingles on the roof. At least there's no visible color aliasing.

YouTube introduces a LOT of aliasing at 1080p because it can't encode a full 1920x1080 frame, it has to be 1920x1076. So it's likely not the GH2.

That's my suggestion:

I've found something here -- interesting combo, even though not necessarily the typical landscape wide shot with lots of detail to deal with, but it is GH13 according the tag:

That Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 is the same lens offered by Paul and Matthew Duclos or Sergey Kravchenko in PL mount. I am buying two units. So, I am not suggesting nothing that I don't want for me ;-) Hope this helps :-)

but isn't the Tokina sharper than the canon FD's?

The more includes the less in any way. The opposite can eventually be out of range instead ;-) You can always to match a sharper lens to begin with. In-camera, filters or @ post, where even the other way round is also possible. The same for the softer end, playing with the aperture, stopping down to mid range, as for instance. That piece of glass would be my first choice. BTW, I have some Canon FD glass as well, so you see :-)

Eh... this footage doesn't impress me THAT much. We've all seen footage this good or better on hacked gh1s and maybe even regular gh1s as nothing is moving.
Plus, whatever lens he's using.. the edges of the leaves are pretty soft.

Thank you for posting that link, I'm loving it!
Also, machine translation of Japanese is always a good time:
"the world comes to video "monster", Panasonic DMC-GH2
- Wait no longer - I'm good in this"
