Nice GH2 24H video from Japan

Ah, if only we could look at the original .mts ... There were just a few occasions where i thought I saw mud (few of the shots where the leaves on the ground were in the dark) and one case of color banding (but that is probably due to youtube)... other than that - wow indeed.

It looks awesome even for youtube - I saw some real mud under the leaves ;)

I saw that earlier and thought it was great. There are some people that doubt that this GH2 will bring great improvements. There is one person around that claimed he got to use one secretly borrowed from a friend and whipped it around to later declared it no good whatsoever. Really? Someone that wants to be an authority in digital filmmaking nonetheless. Seriously, if you are a pro with enough experience in this business and knowledge about how Panasonic works, do you think they are just going to bring out the next generation of a best selling camera with all the flaws of the earlier one? Common sense says that after all the complaints and the advent of the hack you really think they are not going to make a huge effort to make this version a successful one? Look at what happened with the HVX200 and HVX200a. Classic example of their commitment. The GH2 is going to be a huge seller. With a new sensor, improvement over skew, no banding, no moire, the Cinema look option, HDMI out, 16mp stills and more this thing is going to be huge. Especially for the price. Thanks Panasonic one more time.

I don't get this "better than AF100" nonsense.
It doesn't make any sense.

Well, although as Barry says, the consumer and the pro divisions of Panasonic are 2 different companies I doubt it very much that they have 2 different R&D departments, one to make a sensor for the GH2 another one to make a sensor for the AF100. The development of technology at places like this come from a centralized environment. After the development they are applied to different products at different divisions. The GH2 and AF100 are most likely sharing the same sensor, no matter what reps of the company say. Everything else might be tweaked differently but the images are going to turn out very close. Just watch and you'll see for yourself.

Thanks God it wasn't raining! Then the mud would have been really horrible! LOL!

On my computer if I press popout rather than going to fullscreen, the picture quality is always better. Anyone else experience this and know why? On watching from a 1920 x 1200 LCD, running Windows 7 with aero

The photographer is Bruce Dale. It is better to go directly to his vimeo page:

The last five clips are from GH2.

However, he has other stuff there very interesting like this one taken with a GF1, where it is easy to understand we don't need the most recent piece of technology for an ultimate outcome:

Seems like panasonic promoted the GH1/GH2 to semi-pro division

Peter, thanks for posting. This does look really nice. Every day seems like a good news day for this camera at the moment. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

That's a good case for the GF1, but more importantly, learning how to compose a shot.

Color and sharpness look good, but the moire is still there and is still horrible - shingles on the roof. At least there's no visible color aliasing.
