Hi All,

I have been told by Barry FM from Nexto Drive that they are considering on bringing to market a Video Pro with a P2 slot in lieu of the SxS slot.

Their designing teams are looking out for our view on this. Write in on this thread & may be we see a P2 Nexto Drive soon (june end who knows :D )

Personally speaking i would be more keen to get a Direct P2 slot on Nexto Drive as using a Expresscard adopter for P2 reading offloading would be to cumbersome ... May be Nexto should consider either a DUAL slots for P2 & SxS slot on Single drive or wo diff drives options with P2 & SxS slot.

yeah but i wish it gets much cheaper cox it similar to other CF copiers which Photographers use to dumps their images on field. This drive will have a P2 slot & driver for viewing the P2 footage for confirmation. I guess there might be more such products in any time soon as other take the cue.

I hope it finally lans in our lap much cheaper then 1500$ :D

The reason I'm asking is because that will get you about 96 GBs of E series p2 cards.

That's about 96 minutes of continuous shooting at AVCIntra100.

Saw it at NAB-- takes SxS cards or P2 with an included PC-to-Express34 adapter. Also will play the clip.

Yes, they were talking about a $1500 or so price point but note that the price has not been firmed up.

I have one question does this drive has a support for expernal drive where this Nexto can play host & allow P2 cards to be dumped on to external HDDs i feel that will give us infinite space to be dumped with p2 footage !

Hope BarryFM will respond soon.

Hi everyone! So as to the posts regarding the NSV2500:

the $1500 price we were quoting was based on a 500 gig HD enclosed. Since, hopefully, we will see hard drive pricing lower between now and July the street price is not decided.

Regarding the 2nd HDD. Yes. the NSV2500 has a USB host shared port (with the eSata). Through this you can simultaneously backup to both the Nexto and the other drive.

Regarding the P2 version it was everyone at NAB who asked about it that caused the company president who was at our booth to consider it. They have not yet made a decision so it isn't a "done deal" YET. I am letting them know all the responses I get.

YEAH, BarryFM dont let the wave die ... Bring on the P@ slotted Nexto drive. It shall be a boon for us users over the WAY TOO MUCH costly PANY p2 store/gear type prods. Hope panny does learn from your PROduct to make a cheaper P2copier without the flashy useless features which no all dream on field.

What happened no response from NExto RIVE on p2 enabled recorder. When are we seeing them on sale :)

It's available…pretty much.

I got my NVS2500 last week, and it came with a P2 slot adapter. Basically you plug the P2 card into the adapter, insert it in the SxS/ExpressCard slot, press a button and all clips are copied. And once copied, you can review P2 clips on the built-in preview screen.

Where'd you get it?

Gotta say this little thing is freakin' sweet. Not cheap, but solid, well-designed and it just plain works.

I have to say that, for $2K, the P2 adapter looks a bit kludgey. Seems to kind of hang off the side of the device. Any concerns you have with the long term durability of the device as far as this adapter is concerned? Is it actually more robust than it looks?
