I was wodering if any one knows what Panasonic is going to offer for a rebate after June 30? or are they going to stop with the rebates?

I was wondering if I should stick with the current rebate offer or wait 12 days or so and see if they offer anything better?like give p2 cards again. I really dont care for a battery and some software I would never use on there current rebate.

I would not count on another rebate offer to immediately replace the current one. It doesn't make sense for a manufacturer to constantly discount their products, rebates are promotions meant to spur sales during times of excess supply.

If the current offer interests you, you should purchase. If we are going to do anything, and we may not, it may be to extend the current one. In otherwords, get it while the rebate is there.

Thanks,

Jan

Keep this quiet, but I've heard that a new HVX200 purchase from a USA Authorized dealer will get you a brand spanking new HPX500.

:)

David leaked that a bit early, so I guess I'll help fill in the details. You do get a new HPX500 if you purchase an HVX200 from an authorized dealer, and you don't even have to wait for fulfillment. You fill out the form right there, and send in your $14,000 "redemption fee", and they'll give you a new HPX500 right on the spot!

I hope to finance my redemption fee next year for an HPX500.

Meanwhile... not sure if I'll be making a HVX200 purchase before the current rebate/offer ends, but I'm definitely purchasing one within 30 days.

Pardon my ignorance, but how exactly does any of that work? I'm not familiar with rebates, so redemption fees and the like are foreign to me.

Its the same way I got my HVX - paid the $5200 redemption fee and was promptly sent my camera. No hassle or anything. And all I did was see the ad on their website - products for money - its craaaazzzyy!!

That's so rediculous! I can't believe you actually have to take the time to fill out a form. You'd think with such a big company like Panasonic, they'd be able to handle this kind of stuff without the paperwork. They should just box them together.

I doubt they will be giving out any more free P2 cards, especially since consumers can't even find them!
Imagine a world where you could buy a P2 anytime you want. Now that's quite a dreamworld!

I think we need to look into a class action lawsuit here. I mean, if I'd known when I bought my HVX last October that for a mere $14,000 "redemption fee" I could also have had a free HPX, I definitely would have waited. Panasonic just won't stop punishing us early adopters...

Class action suit! Class action suit!

Ok... anyways... to reiterate the answer to the original question...

There is no guarantee for a new rebate... but if there is one after the current on expires, it will likely be an extension of the current rebate... but no guarantee, so best to purchase while you know you can get the rebate, if at all possible...

later,
jason
