Should i wait for Sony NEXCAM and enjoy 50% bigger sensor or buy af100 ?
What to do?

If you have paid work or can afford it, buy an af-100; and IF the NEXCAM has all the features you need, sell the 100 and get the NEX when it's released

/sarcasm/

You should wait… but by then there will be something even better that's been announced with a fuzzy delivery date - so you'll have to wait for that. By then I'll have worked my two AF100's and paid for them many times over, replaced them with the next great camera, and enjoyed some great travel and a new car. All paid for by the camera you didn't buy, the jobs you didn't do, and the experience you didn't get.

Seriously though; I don't understand why these questions get asked, especially about cameras that don't exist.

problem is the lenses.
i need fast WIDE lenses...once i commit myself to lenses i am stuck.....cameras are cheap, lenses are not.
I need Fast Wise Lens....at least 25mm T2.0 which is 12.5mm in LUMIX language.
If i have S35 sensor i can live with SIGMA 20mm f1.8 or get something better...but with af100 i keep losing 50%.
I have other equip to shoot, but i need something lighter.
Sony F3 would be perfect but it is overpriced.

2 Questions:

Why do you need fast wide lenses?

Why is lens rental not an option?

Edit:

Also your conversions are wrong. The conversion factor from cinema 35mm to 4/3 (and is that confirmed for the NEXCAM?) is 1.2x I believe.

I have shot on many types of cameras on all types of jobs. I shoot low light and I shoot well lit. I have an AF100 w/14-140, 20mm 1.7, Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and Nikkor 28mm 2.8. I can honestly say while I could use a few more lenses there are few scenarios (if any) that I can think of that I couldn't shoot with these specific tools. Don't buy it if you don't need it, but waiting on vaporware is a bad road to head down.

How do you calculate "50% bigger"? The AF100's 17.8mm wide, and the Sony will be 23.6mm wide, for a difference of 5.8mm. That results in a total comparative crop factor between the two of them, of about 33%, not 50%.

You'll get a wider field of view on that bigger sensor, no doubt. We don't know what else will be different, but what we do know, historically, is that there's no free lunch. If it's "better" in some ways, it'll be "worse" in others.

If you have no NEED for a product now, why spend money now? If you can wait, why not wait? However, if you can put it to work now and start making money with it now, what possible reason would there be for waiting?

You are right , crop is only 33%. But F-3 chip is almost twice as big(178 versus 314).
I just saw my friends AF-100. I am very impressed with picture and overall design(buttons,controls..) Picture is very clean and Panasonic matrix is excellent....love the colors.
Looks like i will buy af-100..i already have 3 lenses. I just must find fast wide lens and good PL Mount.(optitek)?
