General Newegg.com customer service

I just bought the Canon 7D/28-135 package from newegg.com and neglected to order the printer on the same invoice. You have to purchase both on the same invoice to get the printer rebate.

Realized my error just a couple of hours later. Called them but it was too late -- I guess the order was already in process as I had requested next day shipping. Called again 2 days later to plead again to see if they would still sell me the printer and just send a corrected invoice so I could get the $400 rebate. THe 7D is an expensive camera and it will be awhile before I make a purchase like this again, so getting the rebate was very important to me.

True, I did not correctly place the order properly in order to qualify for the rebate, but I would have thought once I explained what happened they would have taken the order and allowed the rebate.

Although they were very polite, and offered a small discount (much less than the rebate) they would not do this. I cannot understand why anyone would turn away a sale and severely disappoint a customer thus negating any future business with the customer!!! Very poor customer service in my opinion.

Interesting - can you not just cancel/return the order and do it over, adding the printer to the invoice this time around?

They suggested that, but I really did not want to handle it that way. I had already paid for next day shipping. IMHO it could have been much more easily handled by just doing a corrected invoice. Just my opinion of course.

Of course, I completely agree with you. By canceling the order however you would have been able to get the $400 rebate. Did you buy the printer anyway? If so or you're still planning to, I'd handle it whatever way I could to ensure that I got the $400 rebate. That's a lot of money..
