Hi,

I've just purchased an HVX200 and looking to find out more about the best way for me to edit my content. DV won't be a problem, but HD is new to me.

I use Avid Express Pro on a PC with an Athlon X2 3500+ CPU, and I have a couple of removable rack drives (250 gig 7200rpm WD) that could be put into RAID if needed. I've only got 1gig RAM for now (I've only done DV till now) and am willing to upgrade asap.

Will I have much problems editing HD footage in my current set-up? Will I be able to?

I have also purchased an FS-100 and would benefit from any help getting content from it to my PC.

Down the road, I will likely try to get help authoring to Blu-Ray/HDDVD....

Thanks in advance!

im not sure if you will be able to edit hd that well.

i dont think 720 will be a problem, but 1080 might be slow.

and 1gig wont work at all. you need 1.5 or 2 gigs of ram.

and also a decent video card.

Make sure you download the latest version of Avid, I think it's 5.7.2 or so; it has support for HVX/P2. Then give it a try, you'll know whether your system's adequate for the task pretty soon.
