Newb Question about Video

I've been a graphic designer for quite a while and have always had an interest in video. I'm beginning to learn and study a lot about it, but there's one question I've recently thought about and cannot find the answer. I understand the 'craving' by some for RAW video because working with RAW pics verses compressed is a world of difference, especially in grading and correcting. I currently have a gh3, so my question is could I just do a "timelapse/sequence" of RAW pics and it would technically be the same as the video (minus audio)? Audio would be recorded separate anyway.

Just curious.

The best method of shooting timelapse is by using a Dslr and turning the still images into a sequence. Using a video camera to shoot timelapse (speeding up video) is a bad bad thing :)
however shooting on red at 1fps works too but dslrs give you endless options. Heaps of info online about it.

Is this what you mean?

Trust me I tried to shoot the sun coming up and going down sped it up in post up to 1000% and it still didn't go fast enough. your best off to shoot in red at 1fps like Owen was recomending
