New York in Slo Mo

Nice video and flow there. The woman's close up seemed really random and disconnected from everything else though, I did enjoy the main guy rapping and painting. Maybe he should have painted on her naked body or something.


I love how you used the D90s "flaws" to your advantage and complimented them by adding more flaws intentionally (like the moire and the RGB phasing patterns)

And did you use topaz photoshop plugin and unsharp masks?
 
Jesus, this is incredible. What did you use for the slow mo? And the other effects (scratches, etc)?

the slo mo is done on the 7D and D5K and some twixtor.
the scratches is a lot of things.

I have not used topaz photo plugin and no unsharp masks either.

very nice. i like the camera work, lighting and grading especially. the editing was a bit slow but that's ok. :-) i didn't like the extreme closeup with the ringlight in his glasses, it didn't look as cool as the rest, but i guess you needed to show him since it's his video. ;-) what's that ringlight btw? nice pattern. is that tape over it i see in the mirror or are some leds broken? as for sharpness, didn't you apply any sharpening in post? did you shoot with sharpness up in camera? it looks extraordinary crisp at times, even for the 7d.
 
Ive seen so many Rap videos on DVXuser that I can't bear it, they are all terrible in the extreme trying to be all pimped but end up looking ridiculous with shots inside a badly lit nightclub etc.

Yours however was BRILLIANT!!

Matt : no sharpening in post. All flat.
I told you a while back that the nikon 5K was different in look from the D90.
Now you see :)

The ring was bought in the States, but I don't seem to be able to find the link anymore.
Will email the dude and ask him.
