New years resolutions

Realistically... it would be nice to be a filmmaker again. I'm working on it. And I'll be moving out of this little place finally, so there should be some pretty big changes. And I'll have a degree eventually, although with the classes I need getting canceled it's getting harder to say what 'eventually' means.

I don't like the concept of new year's resolutions, but my goals are to follow through with the above.
 
Make a great feature film.

Lose weight.

Make millions.

Blow all the cash on big party's for all dvx users .

Put weight back on and end up back where i started ready to do it all again next year.
 
1) Set-up a vacation retreat/fortified stronghold on Ganymede.
2) Establish a successful methane mining operation on Titan.
3) Begin terraforming both the Moon and Mars.
4) Discover the secret to FTL (faster-than-light) propulsion.
5) Loose weight by having my excess body fat lipo-sucked and turned into a semi-sentient ball of blubber that I can then train to take a bullet for me if need be.
6) Make a 3D live action blockbuster adaptation of the classic Konami game Contra.

7) Prevent the zombie apocalypse.
8) Become a ninja (see video below).

One story/script I have, written by someone very talented, that'll I'll be working on all next year. Not taking on any other gigs or posting any info.

We'll see what we can do with it.

Not in order..

1) Make a feature film
2) Start exercising everyday again and more active in everything
3) Find a girl
4) Find an officiant good paying media job where I'm constantly working
5) Get my own place
6) Make 2010 the best year I've ever lived!
 
1) Finish the god damn Model Solar System that I have all the parts to.
2) Write the three features I have had in mind for a while.
3) Find fellow filmmakers in Sudbury so I can start Producing again.
4) Win more trophies playing Footy (Soccer to you North Americans).
5) Be an even better father and partner (you can always be better).
 
These are all business-related, but:

* Finish The Lost Children and implement its distribution plan - this one is ongoing, but by Jan 1, 2011, this film will be well out in the world and on its way. This also involves a stern commitment to our regular transmedia roll-out and audience-building effort.

* Combine my software business with my film business. For a long time, my software business has just been a money-generating engine. But this year, I want to work proactively to combine it with the film stuff into one sort-of media company, so that it's more integrated with the stuff I love. This seems like it's going to happen with The Lost Children anyway, but want to expand it to other gigs as well.

* Get at least one more story done and ready to raise money. This will most likely involve hiring a writer who can just devote time to that, while we work on everything else. Not enough hours in the day...

* Bite the bullet and realize I do not have enough hours in the day, and just hire the writer already!
 
3 words: Space Shuttle Launch.

It's been on my bucket list to see one since I was a kid; and the last 5 launches are this year.

My wife gave me the choice of a HDTV or a trip to a launch for Christmas. While watching Planet Earth on the TV, we've been planning our trip. :)

Man.....I grew up surfing in florida. We used to see those things take off down the beach all the time. :)


Kind of freaky seeing one and not remembering there was a launch that day.


I'll trade you. I want to get up to alaska :D

I've done three so far, and we are planning on the last one in Sept. Which is frightenly close to my wedding...if they push the launch back any more, I am going to have one pissed-off bride...but a man's gotta have his priorities straight :)

We road-trip down from NYC, stopping in Savannah where we know people, chilin there for a few days, then booking it to the Cocoa Beach Holiday Inn, where we got the "Executive Suite" last time. Looks like it was decorated by Mike Brady in 1976. And of course, Slow and Low, where we have every meal. Not kidding.

The last five are this year!! I might have to do this myself. Do you have the dates?
