New Years Eve Party Video!!! LOOK!!

To dark, needs light.....

The twixtor effect and flares really added nothing to the scene and was done just to do it, personally opinion is to much fluff and not enough content.....

Also did I mention you need light, way to dark......

I think the speed ramps work in this context quite well, but the lens flares and other effects are pointless. They call attention to themselves, especially when we see blue flare with no light source. It just looks like you threw some random overlays with paying much attention to where they went. The absolute biggest problem, as with above, is that it's so dark nothing can be seen. Even without light a fast lens and ASA/ISO bump would be worth the added grain.

Vision_filmz, if you want to leave snarky comments go do it elsewhere where somebody would value your opinion.

Thanks to @LiamR and the constructive criticism of Cassius......I did have an on camera light, the twixtor effect was the whole point in making this video....to make a new years party less bland and more eye catching/entertaining. I wanted it dark in places where people were absent so people appear and disappear throughout the party. I could have brightened up the scenes alot more but the overexposed faces wasn't worth it. Didn't care much about exposing environments as I did exposing people in the scenes.

I thought that not having much light, except on the subjects directly in front of the camera, helped contribute to the overall feeling and atmosphere of the piece.

Learn to take criticism, flares with no light source is pointless..... Also it wasn't about you wanting it to be dark as the lighting is uninspired and flat. The editing was the only thing that saved this project. Don't take it personal I don't know you from a hole in the wall. If I think something looks good I state my opinion if I don't then I do as well.

Welcome to the real world.....

Before my editing added nothing to the scene, but now its the ONLY thing that saved the project. Do you see the dichotomy here? Or do you just leave pointless comments? Either way your opinion doesnt warrant anything more than a chuckle.......Thanks though.

Seems like the press twisting your words here.... Looking at the video trying to find anything creative all I could possibly get was a couple of speed ramps that could be cool if it were used differently. I mean it's like your shadow boxing in the dark here. I mean yeah you might look like you can throw a couple of cool punches , but until we see you in the "real" ring we wouldn't know.

Lets see if you can figure out what I'm trying to tell you
Im done here.

After reading the title, I had low expectations, but was very impressed by this short film. Very difficult to make an event like this look interesting and cool, so well done! I was going to ask how you got the effects but now I've read some of the replies I see. Who cares? The end result is good and your party-going friends must be pleased. I understand why you chose to expose it the way you did. Not sure why some people try to be smart/macho/whatever with their comments; maybe envy.
