A belated Happy New Year all!

I finally got a chance to edit this- my 4th annual (or every other year), first C100 New Years Fireworks / First Sunset video, and yes, in a balmy 75 degrees!

Wide DR. 60i slo mo on first sunset shot.
Canon 70-200 2.8L
Canon 24-105 f4
Tokina 11-17 2.8 (sunset)
Canon 300 2.8L + 2x (sunset CU)

Is it just me or is Vimeo practically impossible to watch? I'd love to check out your slo-mo but I cannot get Vimeo to stream past the 10 second mark. I question why I'm paying for an account! Is it just me that has problems with Vimeo?

Looks great! Can you explain your 60i to slo-mo workflow?
Thanks! The 5-step, take-the-work-out-of-work-workflow:

Step 1- shoot 60i, 1/120 shutter
Step 2- bring 60i shot into Premiere Pro 24p timeline
Step 3- change clip speed to 50%
Step 4- have a beer!
Step 5- repeat Step 4

I'm not even sure I changed my shutter. I was at 180 shutter and I arrived as the sun was rapidly sinking...
And I'm still not clear on if 180 shutter in 60i is the same as 1/120- anybody know?

There's a thread down below that offers help with FCPX if that's more to your taste...

Doug and slidemaster- thanks! This camera is made for shooting at night!

Ha ha, at first I thought "I didn't shoot any dancing girls..." then I realized you meant on the side of the Intercontinental Hotel.
They're actually having tryouts for new "building dancers" if you're interested...

Yeah, it's a good spot on an island in the bay between Miami Beach and downtown Miami.
Only better spot would be a boat- great for viewing, not so great for shooting.

Thanks Matt, good luck with the slo-mo (we should get the word out that it is an option!).

Hey fellow south floridian!

I've shot in that location many of times. In fact I have a shoot tomorrow morning @ marina blue. Definitely nice to see someone in SFL on here. Going to PM you and maybe we can meet and work together in the future! Nice video btw!

Thanks Kastro, I love shooting from Watson Island, have a killer day-to-night time lapse from there...

very nice, how did you color so good :-)?All you filmed in Pp WDR without color grading??

Thanks

WDR and boosted all saturation to 110% for more color, brought down highlights on 2 fireworks CU's, Neat video noise reduction on the 2 shots of reflections in the water.
That's it for grading. Thanks for watching!

Nice! I liked the anamorphic crop too.
Thanks Erik! Yeah, first time I used the 2.35 markers, thought it would work well for the width of the skyline...
