Canon has announced a new MPEG-2 4:2:2 50mbps codec, and has shown a prototype (under glass) of a proposed XHA1-looking camera to go with it. No indication of when it might come out though.

I have it... but my nature work seems demand more than HDV. Depend on your purpose /style/type of work...

If you do a lot of comp & CG. This camera not suitable... Pictures are good, but no HDMI or HD-SDI to get 10 bit footage/422 color.
