New WIP

Re: New WIP

The logo is so 'mystical' sounding. It is totally perfect for the work you are creating. A perfect intro to your style. I guess I know what IM doing today (designing my outland thingy)

Re: New WIP

Someone sent me a PM about what equipment I use and it just disappeared. I'm not sure if I inadvertantly deleted it so if you are reading this, PM me again.

Thanks...

Re: New WIP

You made some really nice changes. I really like the little marmot or whatever. Nice transition from him to the tree with the birds.

I can't say I'm crazy about the pine lake films opener. You fade up from black to a static shot, then all of a sudden the camera starts to pan down, feels kind of robotic. You might want to try fading into the start of the pan...

Great stuff as always.

Mike

Re: New WIP

Thanks for the comments, Mike. We'll have to differ on the Logo opening. I've actually had that in place for a few months now and am really happy with it.

The new scene is an otter, btw.

Anyway, thanks again for the kind words :D

Re: New WIP

Hey Dis, lovely, lovley, lovley . . . the opening shot . . . the best . . . I love the way the camera moved in that and still have not understood what was going on there. My only comment would be to try and comp in some forground cloud movement into the your PINELAKEFILMS thingie in the begining grey cloud opening frame, before the tilt down that is. It is a perfect shot, I love it and would keep on using it. Thanks for the moments of peace :) anyway . . . back to my monday :(

Re: New WIP

Beautfiul - short but very very sweet!

Loved the opening titles - very cinematic - did you use the crane for ANY of it...?

Yet another award-winning Disjecta short! ;D

Re: New WIP

excellent as always. nice work. i really like the colors in this peice. just really vibrant and full of life. i like the logo too :)

Re: New WIP

Hey Steven,

I have some problem downloading your movie. I only got the first 30 seconds.

Re: New WIP

Shadow,

I've only experienced this problem not having the absolute latest version of Quicktime. Are you sure you have that?

I just uploaded a new file so try that.

Michael, despite my earlier comments, I tried fading in a little later on the opening logo to where the tilt is already in progress and it seems to be better so thanks for the suggestion. The change is now reflected in the uploaded file.

The opening logo sequence was just a simple tilt using my tripod, no crane used at all and, for that matter, throughout the entire piece.

Re: New WIP

Hi Disjecta,

As usual, excellent work and I really like the opening shot. Your music always blend so nice with the image.

If you continu to do all those nice films on Pine Lake, you will create a "boom" town over there. :D

Re: New WIP

The dynamic fluidity that you achive with just a tripod is quite stunning.

Disjecta, if you ever get the time, could you put together a 2-hour version of Waters Edge? Like this little feature, it's just too damn short.... ;D

Re: New WIP

Guys, I am working towards making a DVD available to the board. The Water's Edge cable edit and this one plus more. I can't put Marymoor or the original Water's Edge on it because the music is copyrighted but the others I paid for.

It's going to be a while (maybe early next year) but when I'm close, I'll let you guys know.

Thanks for the support.

Also Andy, this particular piece is about halfway through, this does not represent the final length.

Even if you don't end up using any of their tracks, it's a great starting point for ideas.[/quote]

do you mean $90/song? is there a membership fee?

Re: New WIP

Yes, per song... There is an initial fee of $200 but they use that against your usage of their tracks....

Re: New WIP

btw, I'm heading up to Vancouver for the Thanksgiving holiday to do some eagle watching/shooting :D
