New vegas 12?

Last year I went from Vegas 9 to AE CS4 via EDL, and then from AE to Premiere :) No issues other than it being a workaround

Any word on stability?

Any word on stability?

I hope it's more stable then past versions.

I have the same question in regards to stability. In previous upgrades, I have gone through stability problems until a couple of updates later. Any word as to the stability of v. 12 as yet?

i've been working with 12 for a few days now and it seems pretty stable and i'm a guy coming from version 9. i have MB Looks 2 installed also and it works like a charm. direct p2 import (so i guess my version 9 and raylight 1.3 may be history soon).
i have an average computer 4GB Ram with an average graphics card. no crashes yet.

I read in the Sony forums that the nVidia CUDA support is really good with Vegas 12, where users are seeing a 300 percent boost in rendering speed with a $200 - $300 nVidia graphics card.

Thank you. Very helpful.
I use MB v2 as well and I was curious if it had any problem. I'm lad to hear that it works like a charm.
It seems like it is time to upgrade.

Thinking it might be time for an upgrade (using Vegas Pro 9 now)....I'm going to need a new video card (running windows 7 64 bit).
What cards would you guys recommend?

Any card based upon the nVidia GTX 660 Ti chipset is a good buy right now, and you should be able to find one close to the $300 price range.

Being a new card, there may be some minor driver compatibility issues, so you may want to check the Sony forums to find out what nVidia driver people are recommending.

That's the card I'm looking at too!

a couple of questions regarding vegas pro 12 ...would getting a card like the nVidia GTX 660 Ti help with the workflow and playback realtime of clips in pro 12 when using MBL v2?
Im thinking of upgrading from gh2 to Blackmagic cinema camera, how good would pro 12 handle prores or dnxhd files regarding real time editing , can i edit cinema raw dng n pro 12? thanks for the info

I doubt that ProRes or DNxHD CODECs would be accelerated by the nVidia CUDA hardware, I think any speed gained would be specific to Sony CODEC implementations. ( i.e. the CODEC would have to be designed to use the graphics hardware )

You can download a fully working demo from the Sony Vegas Pro Web Page to try things out.

I would also recommend checking out the Cineform NEOSCENE CODEC, which is a high performance "editing" CODEC like the AVID DNxHD or Apple ProRes CODECs, and has native versions for both Mac and Windows computers.

Just got the expected upgrade offer from Sony: "Save $50 on upgrades from Vegas Pro: boxed $149.95; download $139.95." (And a nice discount on some useful NewBlue stuff.)

Mumble mumble, this will be a hard decision - I'm only a hobbyist and won't actually make that money back in revenue. But something as simple as Color Match FX could save many hours of work.

I was hoping to see that in mine, but no luck yet. Still running 9 on this box, waiting for a good deal to upgrade...
