New vegas 12?

Import and export a wide range of project files to and from Vegas Pro 12. The built-in software can convert between the native .veg file and AAF, for Avid® ProTools®, XML for Apple® Final Cut Pro® 7, Final Cut Pro X (export only) and DaVinci Resolve 8, and .prproj for Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS6 and After Effects® CS6.

wowowowowow

I moved to Adobe CS6 for RED workflow and better collaboration with post houses but I'd love to get Vegas back on my system for personal projects. If for nothing else, the audio section alone just embarrasses the competition. I hope it's more stable then past versions.

P2 support - about 5 years late!

The P2 support is native and is better than Raylight in a few ways; trails behind Raylight in others.

There's no need for any plugin or the Raylight codec; P2 clips drop onto the timeline natively. It also doesn't have the sound synch issues Raylight could have, nor does it require any settings.

Audio is slick; if you want channels 1/2, they're imported to the stereo track automatically. If you want channels 3/4, you right-click and choose Stream 2.

Current limitations: there's no 24p pulldown removal. Nor is there P2 export. The expectation is that these will be added in updates; a similar thing happened with the release of Premiere Pro CS4.

One of the coolest new tools is the Color Match FX. It does a great job of matching color between clips, but you're not limited to other clips -- you can tell it to match just about anything. Can be used to great effect if you experiment with matching to things like gradients or other types of images.

Just got the expected upgrade offer from Sony: "Save $50 on upgrades from Vegas Pro: boxed $149.95; download $139.95." (And a nice discount on some useful NewBlue stuff.)

Mumble mumble, this will be a hard decision - I'm only a hobbyist and won't actually make that money back in revenue. But something as simple as Color Match FX could save many hours of work.

Just upgraded to Vegas 12. Can anyone tell me how to access the'comprehensive s-log workflow' for working with F3 S-LOG footage. I hope Pro Titler 2 is reliable and doesn't constantly crash like version 1 - it is a fantastic text creation tool and worth the upgrade alone. Thanks, Sparky

10 and testing 12

I'm not seeing it in v.11 or v.12. I don't see the short cut implemented anywhere or 'Render in Player' anywhere. The closest thing to it is the Shift+M option.

I'll be curious to see if anyone else has an answer to this. Thanks.

According to the Keyboard Shortcuts list, preview to player is still in Vegas 12 as Ctrl+Shift+M. There may be a bug.

The feature I'm most excited about is being able to import Premiere projects. I'd love to cut in Premiere, then online the video in AE while mixing sound in Vegas. I tried it out in the trial and kept crashing Vegas. Hopefully in a future update it'll get worked out.
