New User; shimmering images

I recently purchased an XH-A1. I"m shooting on automatic using high quality SD tapes. I also am recording directly to a Mac Book hard drive using On Location. Although the images look alright through the view finder, when I capture it using either Premiere Pro or IMovie the images have a shimmering quality to them especially around the highlights. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remedy this problem.

never had this problem but you should spend a day getting to know your manual settings.

Maybe auto-focus is constantly adjusting? Try shooting in manual focus.

It could be caused by the Macintosh image scaling on the computer screen, set display preferences to full resolution 1920 x 1080 to see if the shimmer is still there.

if you have some pictures of what it's doing it will help us understand the problem better than just "shimmering"

Shimmering

Shimmering

I now have uploaded a short clip to vimeo.com. It is entitled "Shimmering" and shows some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Any suggestions as to how to deal with the shimmering (you should see it on the gis and the instructor's forehead, would be greatly appreciated.

looks like auto gain to me. Turn off agc and set it to manual.
