New Uprez software from Red Giant

Which is why I only use Instant HD to bring my cropped 4:3 footage up to 16:9. Does a good job of that and in a pretty easy usable workflow.
I think this is all I would want it for right now. My delivery would be SD DVD anyway.

I REALLY like the look of Disjecta's Lake Films done with Photozoom, but, then again, most of that has to do with the person behind the camera to begin with. I don't even have my camera yet (still using my little Elura

), so I am a long way off from that kind of quality even after I get my new camera.

Would it improve the quality of "squeezed" 16:9 from the DVX100B when output to DVD? Or would it be better to shoot it "letterbox" then use Instant HD to crop / uprez and output to DVD. Or, would it just be better to use the PhotoZoom method ... or am I missing the entire point here?

FYI, Panasonic USA just announced that the new rebate bundle deal for the DVX100B includes this InstantHD software for free!

Where did you see that? I couldn't find that at their site. I ask because I will be purchasing within two weeks (FINALLY!!!), and, since I missed out on the $400 rebate that ended yesterday ...

They don't look the same at all. Look at the clouds, and the water, and the buildings. If you think they look the same, you should probably go get an eye exam today. The Red Giant file looks much better.
Yeah, I agree... the Photozoom still, looks slightly softer than the InstantHD still. Plus, the InstantHD still has a better reflection in the water than the Photozoom still. Cloud-wise I don't see much difference though.

I wish the plug in would be avialable for Vegas software users.

Me too. I use After Effects frequently, but only for short scene effects, titling, and DVD menus. I have PP2, but I don't like it as much as Vegas (what I use all the time). Oh well, can't have everything. :)
