New Trailer up for my feature sight

This has probably been asked, but what were your camera settings?

Did you shoot 24p?

actually no it has not been asked:

I shot 24 PA 1080 60i with cinelike d and +3 corning(actually I ripped off barry green on his settings so... lol.) The footage I got with the straight HVX200 no M2 adapter was pretty sweet. However with the M2 which is my new bi...ch just kills, I mean it's alittle sofe but it really gives the finishing touch to the film look.

The look on the male actors face was very intense and believable. For the split seconds I saw him, he made we want to know all about the trouble he was in. At that moment the furthest thing from my mind was the frame rate and cine gamma of the camera. Keep up the good work.

Hmm. Well, no offense at all, but it looks a little video.

Is it because of the squeezed frame?

Yeah, I noticed that too, It looked fine when I watched it on my 50inch plasma but on my 15inch PB it looks video. I think it's because I had to down res and then aproximate in dreamweaver (because I stink at webdesign). Overall I don't think it looks too bad but it's crap compaired to the full rez version.

Need help fixing that in dreamweaver?

You need to have decent web stuff as well. It's crushed at the moment, that could make it look a little more video than it should.

creepy!! looks good.. id darken the bald head guys shot, the hot spot on his head does give it a bit of a video look... otherwise CREEPY!!

thanks guys and yes I do need help in dreamweaver, idealy we want a flash site up for the film as it's all about how you present the project not even if the project is good that racks up the sales.-rock-adam

You can AIM me the actual HTML in Dreamweaver for that page and I'll resize it for you.

Flash and Quicktime are the mediums to deliver in. Of course, it's a lot easier to do an h.264 quicktime file.

Congrats on a much more impactful trailer. This has a lot more going on than the one you did.. The only thing that sticks out is the guy at the end with the gun extended out.. and the other guy there... seemed kind of static and not as stylized as the other stuff.

What about having the one guy say... you should have been dead.. and then do a blistering montage of some cool action and gore all slammed into a few seconds.. and then come back. Would be very very impactful.. and keep it intense all the way though. It just seemed stilted and "filmschooly".. if that makes any sense.

But overall it's cooler than the other teaser.. and looks very interesting. Keep it up and post again, brother.

I wonder why it looks a little video... maybe because it is video ?!?

It does look nice, even squeezed. Am I the only one that notices a major problem with the audio levels? At a decent volume I could barely here some of the people talking, while the weird screams/gasps were farily loud. That first image/audio is awesome I might add.

Thats a good idea, I see your point. And god I hated film school! 4 years of wasted time talking about making movies with people who are mostly now sering coffee and talking about making movies! UGH!!!!!!!!

I'm going to get the trailer unsqueezed tomorrow as I realised after looking at the HTML that the problem is in the export from FCP and not in Dreamweaver. Thanks for the offer, and if you know flash PM me and we can talk about maybe getting the site in order, I'll throw some of the dwindling budget at cha-rock-adam

Yeah, it is!?!?! OMFG I DIDN'T KNOW!

I KANT BELEEVE ITS NAHT S00PER SICKSTEEN!!!

I meant that it looked more 60i than 24p.

Thanks.. they do come from time to time. Adam.. it's also so cool that you are open to people's opinions and that you come across as genuinely looking for some assistance in finding ya vision.

I just see that a lot of times people feel the need to point out things that are more like what they would do.. even if what someone else did was valid.. it just wasn't the same choice....

I did also notice the Audio levels were a bit up and down... but that's an easy fix with some level riding...

Good luck and keep sculpting it. Everything I ever edit is that same thing.. and just getting it to the point that you are completely happy with it... and then see what happens....

Forgot to ask too. Where were/are Barry's optimal settings? I've come up with some, but would like to try others... Ahhh, maybe that is what the scene file thread is for.. hmmm

looked good -- wanna see more --

Am I the only one that had problem with the mix -- swishes and scary sounds so loud I jumped out of my chair (which is fine) but then the vocals buried way down in the mix so much that they sounded like the on camera mic at a low setting or an off axis boom?

Sorry if someone mentioned this - I skimmed the thread but didn't see it.
EDIT: -- ofcourse now I see Noah's post ... but yeah bigger problem than any image issues.

Anyway -- the sounds you are using are very effective but the vox mix seems bad.

Here's a site I've found mucho useful:

That felt genuinely creepy, which is rare. I would agree with Justyn's comments on the montage, but maybe add some different pacing of the montage, like fast and then slower and then slower and slower to a stop. Then again, that's outside looking in. If that doesn't fit with the tone of your movie than it's just me talking to hear myself talk.

It looks fairly professional for the most part.

Congratulations.
